Trip to Valdosta, GA

I am getting back to the blog thing after being gone to Valdosta for a week. Things are slowly returning to normal.

The kids and I left for Valdosta on July 13th. We had an uneventful trip down with all our luggage. We had 4 bikes, a stroller, 4 suitcases, a swing, 4 children and a mommy!! It was very CROWDED. It wouldn't be so bad but the little bikes won't fit on the bike rack (I know it doesn't make sense to me either) so they have to go in the car. Anyway, we made it to the Jackson's house. The boys wanted to go swimming immediately which we did because it was HOT and HUMID in Valdosta (I guess I forgot that). On Saturday we went to Valdosta and visited with our neighbors and friends from Live Oak, Fl. It rained out Alex's birthday party but we ended up having a good time anyway. We saw many of the people we had gone to church with and everyone seemed to be doing okay. Sunday we went to church in Valdosta. Sydney Katya enjoyed the cradle roll class!! On Sunday night Vacation Bible School at Lake Park began. It lasted till Thursday night and we really enjoyed it! The boys loved the skits and puppets. Monday I invited some of my mommy friends over to the Jackson's to swim. The kids had a good time. I think we had 12 kids between the 4 of us. Tuesday and Wednesday the boys enjoyed playing with their cousins from Gainesville. We spent most of the day in the pool. Wednesday, Parker Reid bit a hole in his lip by jumping off the edge of the pool. Ouch!!! It bled and bled. No stiches, thank the Lord! On Thursday I went out to start my van and it wouldn't start. I was heading to eat dinner with my friends Mrs. Julie and Allison. Turns out it was my battery. Once again a blessing that it was nothing worse. On Friday morning early about 3 am Sydney Katya woke up with croup. She was wheezing and couldn't breathe very well. Mrs. Jackson and I headed to the ER for a breathing treatment. She was okay. We slept a few hours and then I headed back to Atlanta. We had a great time and enjoyed being spoiled by Grandaddy and Grandmommy!! Thanks.
